Meeting #10

I PRAY FOR AND SERVE THOSE WHO ARE FAR FROM GOD.

Discussion Questions

  1. “Before you talk to any man about God, first talk to God about that man.”  Who are you talking to God about?  Do you have a plan for when/how to pray for them?  When you pray for them, what are you praying?

  2. Many times, our actions/deeds are our “foot in the door” that open up gospel conversations.  What could you do to serve the person you are talking to God about before we meet again?

  3. Are you struggling with being compelled to share the gospel? Many of us do, and sometimes it takes action to jump-start our desires.  If you are wrestling with having a heart for the lost, what is just one thing you can do to serve someone who doesn’t know Jesus in these coming weeks?

  4. The same thing applies for praying for the lost. A lot of times we can neglect the lost in our prayer.  Prayer can not only lead to a work in the heart of those we pray for, but in our heart as well.  If you struggle with having a desire to pray for the lost, will you be faithful to pray for just one person in these coming weeks?  God just might astonish you in the way He answers you.

Bible Backing

Romans 10:1

Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Luke 11:9

And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Matthew 9:37-38

37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

1 Timothy 2:1-4

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Evangelism Resources

3 Circles Method  This is the method of sharing the gospel we use here at The Heights.  It’s not the only way, but it is the way what we train our people in.  Skip to to Meeting 19 if you would like to be trained in this sooner.  There is an app that goes through the 3 Circles, though there are some minor differences than they way we do it at The Heights. It is called the Life Conversation Guide App.  Click here for more info.
